The Lord's Bond-Servant

(rehearse the top portion)

As the Lord's bond-servant I must...

not be quarrelsome
be kind to all
be able to teach
be patient when wronged
gently correct those in opposition

~

(expanded)

not be quarrelsome
(acting as though I'm at war, quarreling, disputing, battling)

be kind to all
(especially with my words, be affable, mild, kind)

be able to teach
(able to instruct, communicate by teaching)

be patient when wronged
(enduring ill, forbearing with others)

gently correct those in opposition
(with gentleness and humility)
(correct as with training a child, educate)
(those who set themselves against or opposite of truth)

If perhaps God may grant them repentance
leading to the knowledge of the truth

and they may come to their senses
and escape from the snare of the devil
having been held captive by him to do his will.
